Audio Enthusiasts – Mo.

I enjoy talking about a lot of things with Mo, he’s a headphone enthusiast I relate to because we share the love for anime (which includes some very well-endowed female characters) and games.
I highly value his opinion on a lot of subjects, and I will go to great lengths to hear his recommended headphones.
A little note, I don’t often edit my interviews but per request, I did some very slight editing on Mo’s interview.

1. Would you like to tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a Chinese. I’m going to Japan for study this year. I like games and anime.

2. What music do you enjoy and why?
I like to listen to bossa nova, future bass, jazz, blues and hip hop.

3. Why are you enthusiastic about audio?
I was using normal earphones before but one day, my friend brought his Sennheiser CX215 to me. He said “try this.” and you know what happened.

4. What audio gear do you use?
Sennheiser: MX365, PX 200 II, HD598
Audio-Technica: CKB 50, IM 70
JVC: FXT 90
Philips: Fidelio S2, SHP 9500
Pioneer: XDP-30r (It’s a player)
Elecom: EHP-AHR 192 (It’s a DAC for Android, but I changed the micro USB cable to USB, so now it’s working for my PC.
I tried to make an IEM…and I made some garbage. (Editors note: Mo might not like the sound but the final IEMs were beautiful in my opinion.)
There’s some audio gear that I don’t remember…

5. What would be your perfect audio gear setup?
STAX of course.

6. What is your favorite format for audio and why?
FLAC, it’s smaller than WAV, and it can save the album image. We also got the same resolution between WAV and FLAC, and we can use FLAC in every Hi-Res equipment. That’s really convenient.

7. Would you like to share some photos of your audio gear?

Interview conducted 26/02/2019

The concept behind Audio Enthusiasts was inspired from the amazing My Linux Rig.
